Bomb scare causes tension at Chennai Central station
No train services were delayed
Chennai: Tension prevailed at Chennai Central station after an anonymous caller warned that bombs were placed at the station premises on Monday. The city policy control room received the call at 6:15 pm.
“The city polie with the help of Government Railway police (GRP) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) immediately checked entire station areas and trains to ensure that the area is safe and situation was under normalcy,” said Thillai Natarajan, Deputy Superintendent of Police, GRP, Chennai Central.
“We are trying to intercept the source of the call and are hopeful to find a lead soon,” he added. No train services were delayed.
