Bengaluru boy’s body found near Kollam beach

Three members except Varun were rescued by lifeguards Suresh Babu and Ambili
KOLLAM: The body of a seven-year-old boy who went missing the other day on the beach here was found near the shore on Monday morning.
Varun, son of Resmi and Santhosh of Vijayanagar, Marenahalli, was part of a tour group from Bangalore.
Bhavya, 23, and Sherisha, 22, who were rescued by lifeguards are undergoing treatment at the Kollam District Hospital.
Another member of the group, D.S. Muraleedharan, 60, had drowned, when a huge wave washed away all the three, including Varun, as they tried to enter the sea.
Three members except Varun were rescued by lifeguards Suresh Babu and Ambili. Muraleedharan died on his way to the hospital.
They were among 12 members of four families from Bangalore on a tour that started a few days back visiting Guruvayoor and Wayanad.
They were heading towards Kanyakumari and visited Kollam beach on their way.
The beach has been witnessing furious sea since last week and lifeguards say lack of proper signboards is also a cause of accidents on the beach, which is comparatively deeper than the rest of the beaches in the state.
