Asif’s concert was absolutely entertaining

Pakistani musician Asif Sinan recently performed in the city during the TEDx Secunderabad talks. Combining elements from Indian classical, Jazz and Sufi music, Asif’s concert was absolutely entertaining. But the musician was also carrying a little piece of home — Pakistani truck art on his guitar case!
Truck art is one of the many pop-culture themes from the sub-continent — works of art on vehicles that crawl through the remote regions of Swat, Quetta and Balochistan. It was an early attempt by truckers to hide the age of their trucks but the art soon captured the world’s imagination with art observers calling them ‘masterpieces on the go’.
