Trisha to play an animal lover in Simba?
Trisha will make a special appearance in the black comedy Simba
Trisha will make a special appearance in the black comedy Simba, which has Bharath essaying a drug addict and Tollywood girl Bhanu Mehra of Varudhu fame in the lead roles, according to sources.
Interestingly, Simba is the name of the lead character (a lion) in the Hollywood flick The Lion King. Directed by Aravind Sridhar, Simba highlights the belief that ‘pets can be prescription for a happier and healthier life’. “The film delves on the concept of hallucination. Bharath plays a loner and junkie, who is raised by his granddad (played by Premgi), a dog lover, who also was also an addict. He has hallucinations and the script is from his point of view. When his ‘thattha’ passes away, he can see him in his neighbour’s dog (the dog has the face of Premgi),” says Aravind.
So, will Premgi have the look of a dog? “Sort of! Through graphics and special makeup we have given him a distinctive look. There are twenty different dogs, which are part of the movie. Of course, we have taken proper permission from Animal welfare Board,” says Arvind. While Ramana has been roped in for a crucial role, T’town actress Swathy Dixit will groove for an item number in the film. Coming finally to Trisha, ask Arvind if he managed to bring her on board for a key cameo, the director is all smiles. “We are talking to her and she is yet to sign the dotted line. Being an animal lover who always fights for a cause, the subject is close to her heart. We are confident that we would be able to rope her in for Simba. One of the dogs which act in the movie has the name of her pet dog ‘Cadbury’, he concludes.
