Title trouble for GV Prakash’s Bruce Lee

GV Prakash is all set to start his next venture
Basking in the success of his recent adult comedy Trisha Illana Nayanthara, music director turned actor GV Prakash is all set to start his next venture, a thriller that has been titled Bruce Lee. In that movie, Kriti Kharbanda will play his romantic interest. We hear that the film has been dragged into a controversy over its title. With Ram Charan’s Telugu film Bruce Lee dubbed into Tamil Bruce Lee 2 and the actor going all out to promote the movie, including paying a visit to Chennai soon, the makers of GV’s film are in a spot of bother. They feel that Charan’s title will mislead the audiences and it should be changed since it’s a dubbed version. Yet another interesting thing is that Kriti Kharbanda is also a part of the Telugu venture.
When DC contacted producer Selvakumar, he did assert that he would stick to his title. “Leave alone the Tamil title Bruce Lee 2, we finalised and announced our film’s title Bruce Lee even before Ram Charan announced his Telugu title. And for us, the Telugu title does not matter much. We want their Tamil dubbed title to be changed. We learnt that they have registered their title with The Film Producers Guild, where as we got ours recorded in Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC). We have given our written complaint to TFPC and are hoping to get favourable reply.”
