Hyderabad: Internal differences and ‘disappointments’ in the Telangana unit of Telugu Desam resulted in some senior leaders from TS keeping themselves off the swearing-in ceremony of N. Chandrababu Naidu as the party’s central committee president, and of other office-bearers of the CC, politburo, as also AP and TS committees. Errabelli Dayakar Rao, E. Peddi Reddy and Krishna Yadav are the senior leaders who kept off the swearing-in ceremony.
TD leaders said E. Dayakar Rao could not make it to the function as he had to attend the funeral of a relative in Warangal. But sources close to him said the senior leader was quite unhappy with the way his hard work for the party was “ignored.” He was expected to be elevated as working president of the TS-TD or at least get a key role in the politburo. However, he became a member of the politburo only by virtue of being the TDLP leader.
What has upset Dayakar more than his past services being “ignored” is the fact that his rival from Warangal district, Revuri Prakash Reddy, was elevated as general secretary of the party’s national committee.
Also, he is irked by the fact that Revanth Reddy, who is facing serious charges in the cash-for-vote scam, has been elevated to the post of working president of TS-TD. Dayakar feels he deserved the job.
Former minister E Peddireddy is another senior leader who is upset over not being given a prominent place in the politburo. This senior leader from Karimnagar district has been the official spokesperson of the Central Committee. TS-TD leaders said factors that worked against Peddireddy's elevation in the party was that he had switched over to the Praja Rajyam party and earlier joined Devender Goud's new Telangana party, only to rejoin the TDP again.
Former minister from the city, C Krishna Yadav, is peeved over the fact that he has been replaced by M Gopinath even before he completed one-year in office as Greater Hyderabad TD President.
