Pressure on hospitals to link Telangana health scheme
The rates were too low and not sustainable
Hyderabad: With Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences and Maxcure Hospitals participating in the state government’s Employee Health Insurance scheme, there’s now added pressure on other private super specialty hospitals.
A senior member of Telangana Super Specialty Hospitals’ Association said, “All the private hospitals are meeting to discuss this issue on Monday. Maxcure Hospitals have signed without consulting us. We are going to discuss the issue again with the government as we were not convinced with the rates offered by it under EHS.”
The EHS has been a bone of contention between the hospitals and the government, as the former have been stating that the rates were too low and not sustainable.
With Maxcure Hospitals agreeing to it, the other members of the association say that this is a more to split the association and this will have a bad fallout on the healthcare system in the state.
A senior doctor said, “Now with one hospital doing it at government rates, it is going to make all others fall in the line, which will benefit the employees but not the healthcare industry.”
