A walk to remember

Artiste Jaywant Naidu shares exclusive photographs from the 8th Annual Scott Kelby Photo Walk

On October 3, nearly 150 people from Hyderabad were part of the 8th Annual Scott Kelby Photo Walk.

Worldwide, around 1,000 registered ‘Photowalks’ take place with over 21,000 ‘Photowalkers’ participating — for those fond of cameras and what they do, it’s an opportunity to capture heritage, history and hopefully, make new friends.

The Hyderabad event took place at the The British Residency, built by James Achilles Kirkpatrick, who was a British Resident of Hyderabad State between 1798 and 1805, and which is now within the premises of Koti Women’s College.

And as one could see the doors of the Residency open for enthusiasts, cameras of all sizes and makes came popping out of bags and the place was brimming with the energy of young and old.

The Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk is a social photography event where photographers get together usually at a historical or a trendy part of town. They walk around, shoot photos, share those images and look forward to collaborations

This year was also walking with a purpose — with an opportunity to voluntarily contribute $1 to the ‘Springs of Hope Orphanage’ in Kenya.
