CBSE question papers to change with times

Kochi: The CBSE is working on changing the question papers for various examinations from the current traditional pattern to modern by incorporating the Problem Solving Analysis (PSA) questions and other such elements.
Addressing principals coming under Confederation of Kerala Sahodaya School Complex here on Saturday, CBSE academic director D.T. Sudharshan Rao said that a lot of reforms were on the anvil with the New Education Policy (NEP) being drafted.
Mr Rao said that the syllabus of mathematics would also undergo a change and the open textbook policy would be redrafted. A revamp of the accreditation and assessment of speaking and listening skills was also on the anvil. “The Prime Minister himself had chaired a meeting on NEP while CBSE has conducted five meetings. The Central Advisory Board on Education (CABE) too held a meeting. It is evolving and the new NEP will be drafted at the government level,” he added.
The teachers raised a volley of queries regarding the lack of any intimation from the CBSE on the conduct of PSA test this year for class IX and class XI. He told them that the CBSE was having discussions over it and would inform the schools about a decision soon.
“You will be given ample time to conduct it and there is no need for any worry to incorporate the scores in students data sheet,” he added.
He also asked schools to suggest as many talented teachers as possible to become master trainers of CBSE. He promised to keep the standard of both board-based and school-based question papers put out.
