Vijayawada: Andhra pradesh employees want to move from Hyderabad to Vijayawada after the current academic session only between May and June despite the AP government’s plans to operate a full-fledged administration from Vijayawada city by shifting employees and establishing new offices.
The leaders of AP Secretariat Employees Association told Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu here on Saturday that they could shift to Vijayawada at the end of the education season.
They expressed their inability to move with their families as it would upset the education of their children.
However, they welcomed the recent Cabinet decision on providing nativity to the employeees who shift to AP. The Cabinet had decided that those who shift to Vijayawada by June 2, 2017, would get local status in AP automatically. This has to be cleared by the Centre.
They asked Mr Naidu to give relaxation for medical students. The Secretariat emplo-yees also requested Mr Naidu to allot house sites in the Amaravati capital city location for employees who shift from Hyderabad.
Mr Naidu said that they would meet again on the issues after 10 days.
Mr M. Murali Krishna of the AP Secretariat Employees Association, PRTU leader G. Srinivasula Naidu and other leaders took part in the meeting with Mr Naidu.
