Fan disrupts Keira’s Broadway debut

The actress’ show had to be stopped for a bit

Keira Knightley’s Broadway debut in Therese Raquin came to an abrupt halt in NYC on Thursday when a fan of hers tried to get her attention. According to TMZ, the unidentified male — sitting in the mezzanine section — reportedly shouted Keira’s name and demanded her to respond five minutes into the show. He then threw a bouquet of flowers at the stage. Luckily for other attendees, the show only stopped for a brief intermission. The man was approached by ushers, handcuffed and escorted out of Studio 54.

Meanwhile, the 30-year-old actress was a pro throughout the incident. She reportedly kept calm and even kicked the flowers off the stage with co-star Judith Light. E! was first to report the news. Keira plays the title character in the show, which was originally written by Emile Zola and adapted by British playwright Helen Edmundson.
