HYDERABAD: Among the gold medal recipients on Thursday was C.S. Raju. Raju and his three siblings were brought up by his mother, a farm worker, after his father died when he was in Class VII.
Raju is not only the first post-graduate in his family but also the only person to have gone to school. “My mother does not know what a gold medal is. I explained the concept and brought her to the convocation. She is very proud and happy,” said the gold medalist, who wants to be an IAS officer.
