Hyderabad: Baby found dead in well
Family alleges relatives behind 6-month-old’s death
Hyderabad: A six-month-old female baby was found dead on Wednesday night in a seven-feet well in her house.
Police said the baby’s mother had placed her in a cradle and had gone to her relatives’ house in the neighbourhood. When she returned, the baby was missing. On searching, the family found the baby in the well.
Family members alleged that their relatives were behind the murder.
Khadijatul Qubri was the only daughter of Mohammed Ismayil and Aleema Begum.
Ismayil works as a chef at Bawarchi hotels, while Aleema is a housewife; the couple stays in a house on Road No. 1 in Talabkatta.
“There were no injuries on the body of the baby,” said Bhavaninagar inspector B. Srinivas Rao.
Based on a complaint lodged by Aleema, pol-ice registered a case against four women, including Ismayil’s sister-in-law Mariyam and his cousins Arsa Beg-um, Afreen and Rukh-ayya under IPC Section 302.
The body was handed over to the family after post-mortem.
Police is questioning the accused in the presence of women cops.
“We will get more details during the questioning and nab the culprits,” added Mr Srinivas Rao. The case is under investigation.
