Germany unhappy with ‘ease of doing business in India’
New Delhi: Even as German chancellor Angela Merkel is all set to lead a high-powered delegation comprising six Cabinet ministers to India, Germany on Thursday said German companies have pointed out certain difficulties on the issue of “ease of doing business in India”, including the problem of corruption and hoped it would be addressed in the years to come in a friendly manner.
Ms Merkel would co-chair, along with Prime Minister Modi, the third Inter-Governmental Consultations which were expected to come out with “path-breaking results” and inking of “substantial agreements”.
Ms Merkel will arrive at around 10 pm on October 4 and will hold meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi the following day on October 5. The two leaders will travel to Bengaluru on October 6. During the visit, Ms Merkel is expected to convey to India the problems faced by German industries regarding corruption.
