On Thursday, seven farmers committed suicide due to indebtedness and crop failure
Hyderabad: Even as Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao assured the Telangana state Legislative Assembly that the state government was trying to mobilise funds for one-time settlement of crop loan arrears, farmer suicides continued to shock the state.

While three farmers ended their lives in Warangal district, two suicides were reported from Karimnagar and one each from Nalgonda and Medak districts. Another two farmers died due of heart stroke in Karimanagar and Nizamabad districts.
In Karimnagar district, Choppari Madhunamma, a 55-year-old woman farmer hanged herself, while cotton farmer Siddam Mogili, 50, of Kataram mandal ended his life by consuming pesticide. Tenant farmer Ashaiah, 62, of Ellareddypeta mandal died due to heart stroke.
In Warangal district, Pittala Kumaraswamy, 50, a cotton farmer of Regonda mandal, committed suicide by hanging himself in his field. Karre Sathaiah, 40, of Cheryala mandal also committed suicide by hanging himself.
Jakkula Venkataiah, 45, a cotton farmer of Nekkonda mandal, who consumed pesticide three days ago died while undergoing treatment in Warangal MGM Hospital.
