Seer case: CID team conducts mahazar
BENGALURU: The CID police probing the second rape charge against the seer of Sri Ramachandrapura Math, Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swami, visited the math in Girinagar and conducted mahazar on Thursday.
The complainant had accused that she was raped twice, once in Hosanagar in 2006 and later at Girinagar math in August, 2012. Based on her complaint, the CID officials had conducted mahazar in Hosanagar a few days ago. The police had questioned the staff and locals in Hosanagar during the mahazar.
“As the mahazar was pending at the Girinagar math, a team of officials, led by investigating officer DySP Dharanesh, visited the spot on Thursday. The complainant had alleged that the rape took place at a room in the first floor of the math. The premises was searched and a hard disk and few other documents were seized during the mahazar. Some of the staffers were also questioned,” an official said.
As the court had directed the accused not to leave the city as one of the bail conditions, the accused seer was also present in the math during the mahazar, the official added.
