Today, we celebrate the 147th birthday of Mohandas Karamchan Gandhi. So, here we bring you some rare video clips featuring Gandhi, thanks to the British Pathe Film Archives.
These videos were shot between 1931-1947 and give us a glimpse of his famous trip to London.
Video: Gandhi’s arrival in Marseilles on his way to London.
In this video Gandhi is meeting Charlie Chaplin.
This video show Gandhi’s host Miss Muriel in East London during his 1931 visit.
Miss Muriel was a social reformer and later joined Gandhi when he visited Bihar during an earthquake.
This video shows Gandhi’s visit to Rome in 1931.
In the video he is along with the officers of Benito Mussolini’s National Fascist Party, which ruled Italy during that period.
