Director Bala’s period flick Tharai Thappattai has been in the making for a long time with the crew shooting in different locations like Chennai, Thanjavur, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and more with many artistes.
The filmmakers have officially released the first look of the film, which has its leads hinting about the character they play in it. Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar is seen as a karagattam dancer and actor-filmmaker Sasikumar is playing a nadaswaram artiste.
The two stills from the movie denote that the story happens in two time periods with the lead characters essaying two different roles. An excited Varalaxmi who also assisted Bala in the shooting process took to Twitter to express her happiness. The film, which is touted as the costliest film in Bala’s career, has music scored by Ilaiyaraaja.
