Kapil Sharma’s Comedy Nights With Kapil used to be the most coveted platform for actors — big and small — to promote their films before the opening weekend.
Salman Khan was no stranger to this ritual, until recently when he chose to appear on Comedy Nights Bachao, instead of Kapil’s show. Since the two are rival shows, Salman’s move was a considered a snub by Kapil’s team.
The industry has been for a while now, divided between its loyalties for Salman and Shah Rukh Khan, but Kapil had managed to strike a balance until now. The recent move changed the equation a bit.
Says one of Kapil’s colleagues from Comedy Nights, “When Salman decided to go on the other show, Kapil took it to his heart. Kapil is now an open and unabashed SRK supporter.”
Incidentally Kapil’s name in his debut film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karun is SRK.
