Marshals break parties’ protest
Hyderabad: The entire Opposition, barring the AIMIM, staged a sit-in in the Telangana Legislative Assembly late on Wednesday to highlight farmers’ issues. The protest went on even after the Speaker adjourned the House for the day at 9 pm.
The House debated the farmers’ issues for over 11 hours on Wednesday.
The Opposition members vowed to remain in the House till the government announced a one-time settlement of crop loan arrears of farmers, moratorium on loans taken from private moneylenders etc.
However, security personnel swung into service at around 9.30 pm and evicted the protesting MLAs.
Marshals bodily lifted the MLAs from the House, forcibly shifted them to police vehicles and dropped them at their respective party offices.
Opposition leaders said they would stall the House on Thursday if the government fails to concede to their demands.
