Hyderabad: Auto man’s son bags 4 golds at national events

He bagged one gold medal in the 6-8 year age group in January in Chennai this year

Hyderabad: An autorickshaw driver's eight-year-old son bagged four gold medals and a bronze medal in the national-level skating competitions within six months after started learning the sport.


T. Chandra Ganesh, elder son of T. Dorai Murugan and Annapurna, resides in a Indiramma house on rent in Daaminedu near Tiruchanur. His father joined him at the Srinivasa Sports Complex. Coach Prem, who noticed the boy’s talent and his sharp learning skills, encouraged him and taught him the techniques.

After three months of learning, Ganesh participated in the 15th national level speed skating open championship where he bagged one gold medal in the 6-8 year age group in January in Chennai this year. He later participated in 16th National roller relay skating championship at Goa in April and won three gold medals and a bronze.
