Puli pulled off

Post the I-T raids on Tamil star Vijay, the film’s first day shows were cancelled
Following Income Tax raids on Tamil superstar Vijay and the producers of his much-awaited film Puli on Wednesday, the film’s release was delayed on Thursday. According to a source, the morning shows of the Tamil version of the film were cancelled all over Tamil Nadu. The screenings started from noon.
Meanwhile, all shows of the film’s Telugu version were cancelled on Thursday. According to a marketing executive at Prasads multiplex, they don’t know if the film will be screened on Friday either. “Tickets were booked for Thursday’s shows and we returned the money,” says Kishan from Prasads multiplex. Another source adds that the delay was because the producers could not clear some financial dues due to the I-T raids.
The film was supposed to be released in nearly 500 screens in both the Telugu states on Thursday. Shobha Rani, the producer of the Telugu version, was not available for
comment on the losses due to Thursday’s cancellation.
