Telangana, Andhra Pradesh staff fight over rights of boating on Krishna river
There were serious altercations and police had to rush to control the situation
Guntur: There were tense scenes at Nagarjunasagar on Tuesday as Andhra Pradesh locals objected to Telangana Tourism officials’ move to construct a launch to use for tourism and also to use AP waters for boating.
Andhra Pradesh tourism officials claimed that only they could operate boats there and Telangana did not have any rights.
There were serious altercations and police of the two states had to rush to the spot to control the situation. Sources said that Telangana staff arrived at Anupu of AP with two boats to start boating services on the Krishna River.
