National Institute of Technology Calicut campus all set for Tathva fest

The exhibitors include ISRO, Indian Navy and the Airport Authority of India

KOZHIKODE: The National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) here is abuzz with preparations for the annual techno-management symposium and technology fest - Tathva 2015 - next month.

Some 200 ‘student event managers’ are busy fine-tuning programmes for the four-day event beginning on October 30.

Twenty-three committees work to ensure the success of the event that comes with the slogan Technology Par Excellence and a “whole new range of innovative activities”.

“Various branches will organise events and the students will be rewarded with attractive cash and other prizes,” said M.S. Surya Narayanan, who heads the PR wing.

This year’s dignitaries include space explorer Sourabh Kaushal, Magsaysay award winner Kiran Bedi, former Supreme Court judge and Press Council of India chairman Justice Markandey Katju, noted mathematician M.S. Raghunathan and Shahid H Khan, the Indian representative at UNESCO.

An exhibition will showcase a broad range of themes from all over the world for the visitors, including a motor show of vintage, modified and luxury cars.

The exhibitors include ISRO, Indian Navy and the Airport Authority of India. The attractive and exciting item of bike stunting will not be there in the events due to safety reasons. Instead, a cycle stunt with riders from various clubs would entertain the guests.

The competitions range from school quiz to complex engineering conundrums. The event will also organise a wide variety of informative and subjective lectures by prominent researchers and scientists.
