DMK man gets 5 year rigorous imprisonment for murder bid on AIADMK functionary
Judge Ms.Indirani convicted Thangaraju to undergo 5 years rigorous imprisonment
Pudukkottai: A lower court convicted a 45-year-old DMK functionary at Pudukkottai on Tuesday to undergo five years of rigorous imprisonment for attempting to murder a AIADMK functionary.
According to S. Venkatachalam, additional public prosecutor who appeared for the prosecution, said that Thangaraj (DMK) of Thoppupatti village in Pudukkottai district quarreled with his relative Subbaiah (65) and attacked him with a sickle. Subbaiah received a head injury and was admitted to the government medical college hospital at Thanjavur.
Ganesh nagar police arrested Thangaraju and filed an attempt to murder case against him before the sub court here.
Judge Ms.Indirani convicted Thangaraju to undergo 5 years rigorous imprisonment and also slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 on him.
