Chhattisgarh police site hacked by Pakistani hacker
Raipur: A Pakistan-based cyber hacker on Tuesday broke into at least two dozen websites of the Chhattisgarh government, including that of state police, deleting all data of their servers.
The homepages of the hacked websites were defaced and hosted with Pakistan’s flag and a slogan that ‘Rummy Khan was here. Jux a security round.’ The Facebook page of Rummy Khan, when visited by the Deccan Chronicle, was found to be posted with the mirror link of all the 24 hacked websites.
“Hacking the website of state police is a serious issue. We hope sensitive data have not been stolen,” Raipur range inspector-general police (IGP) G.P.Singh said.
“After hacking website of Chhattisgarh police, the hacker deleted all the data in its server. Following this, 15 other websites of state police linked to the server have also been affected.
All the hacked websites have now been shut down and their maintenance was under progress”, state government-owned Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society (CHiPS) chief executive officer Sourav Kumar said.
CHiPS maintains majority of the websites of the Chhattisgarh government. This was the second time the cyber systems operating from the state fell victim to hacking by Pakistan-based hackers. On July 2 this year, a Pakistani hacker defaced official website of NIT, Raipur.
