Bihar polls: FIR lodged against Lalu Yadav, Sushil Modi for violating election code of conduct?
As per reports both these leaders during their election campaign had tried to use caste cards
Patna: Cases were filed against RJD chief Lalu Yadav and BJP senior leader and former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi for violating model code of conduct in Bihar on Tuesday.
As per reports both these leaders during their election campaign had tried to use caste cards to woo voters in some way or the other.
The ECI had indicated a day earlier that Lalu Yadav was under the scanner for urging people from a particular caste and community to vote in favor of grand secular alliance in Raghopur assembly constituency on Sunday. According to sources, Lalu Yadav ignoring all warnings from ECI had repeated his statement on Tuesday “I will keep fighting to protect people even if they hang me. RSS wants to abolish reservation policy but I will not let them do this.”.
Giving his reaction on Lalu Yadav for playing caste card during his campaign speech senior BJP leader and Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said “on one hand Nitish Kumar talks about susashan and on the other hand Lalu Yadav is making casteist comments but BJP talks about Sabka Saath Sabka Vilas, because we want over all development”.
FIR was also filed against BJP senior leader and former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi in Bhabhua.
According to BJP leaders the complainant Arjun Kumar in his FIR report has highlighted Mr Modi’s election campaign speech stating that he has violated guidelines of election commission by promising “Laptops and TV sets to Mahadalits and Dalits after NDA came to power”.
“They think I will get scared from these FIRs they are badly mistaken,” former deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi said.
