AP police website defunct

None of the 22 services announced by the department is available on the website
Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has been reiterating that the state police use technology and reach out to public through all possible ways. But the state police has not woken up to the need for a full-fledged website for the department so that people access services of the department and access useful information.
Following bifurcation, AP police re-launched a website (appolice.gov.in) as a citizen portal in December last year and announced that all the services would be provided through it. However, none of the 22 services announced by the department is available on the website. Ironically, AP is one of the few states having electronic computerised operations for police services (eCOPS). However, none of the police services is available online through the state police website as well as district and commissionerate-level websites.
Information on the police network in the state, child protection, women protection, information to foreigners, guidelines for tourists and law of arrest are some of the highlights of the website. “We are now systematically adapting to the interactive and technological advancements through the Internet medium,” says state DGP J.V. Ramudu, in his introduction to the website. “In our endeavor to continuously enrich public-police relations we are now systematically adapting to the interactive and technological advancements through the Internet medium,” says state DGP J.V. Ramudu, in his address on the website.
