Mani Ratnam’s new film to be delayed?

The film was originally slated to go on the floors in December
Ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s upcoming yet-to-be-titled flick featuring Karthi, Dulquer Salmaan, Nithya Menen and Keerthy Suresh, is likely to be postponed as he’s contemplating the idea of making the movie as a bilingual. Touted to be a revenge drama, the film, was originally slated to go on the floors in December. “The film might get delayed as Mani Ratnam is now planning to make it a bilingual. The cast for the Tamil version will remain the same and now, he will start to look out for suitable actors for the Telugu version,” a source said. So, are there any chances of the actors getting repeated in both the versions?
“Nothing can be confirmed yet, as it’s too early to talk about,” the source added. Also it looks like the delay is due to Nithya and Dulquer, who have their hands full. One may recall that only a couple of weeks ago, Dulquer started working on a new Malayalam film with Rajeev Ravi, so it looks very unlikely that he completes the project in December. Nithya, on the other hand, as we know, is juggling between Tamil film 24 and a Kannada project with Sudeep. Karthi is also busy with Kashmora.
The shooting is yet to begin as well. Rumours were abuzz previously that the film was planned as a bilingual and was supposed to have Nagarjuna and Mahesh Babu in it. However, it didn’t materialise then. It looks like Mani Ratnam has decided to go back to the square one with two heroes in the Telugu version! The film will have music by AR Rahman, while Ravi Varman will crank the camera.
