Karan is an actor who is careful about not being typecasted and experiments with his roles. The actor who was on a break is back with a film Uchchathula Shiva that is directed by debutant Jeppy and has Neha playing the female lead.
Director Jeppy wanted to can the high-octane action climax scene against the backdrop of fireballs, so stunt choreographer Kanal Kannan accordingly designed the scene. The scene required the actor to jump out of fire and fight villains. Realising the risk involved, both the director and action master wanted to use a body double for the particular shot. But Karan insisted that he would do it himself without a substitute.
He had said, “Even at the time of narrating the script, I decided that I should do this scene myself. I had equipped myself well with special fireproof jackets and was confident that I could pull it off.”
