People think Nushrat and I are real life couple: Kartik
The two talk about the PKP and the chemistry they share with each other. With Luv Ranjan’s ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’ being a sleeper hit in 2011, Kartik and Nushrat’s onscreen chemistry was loved by many. The team is back with the sequel which is all set to release on 16th October. The film’s leading cast Kartik and Nushrat talk about their characters and their transformation in ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2’.
Are you burdened to carry forward the success of the last edition ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2’?
Nushrat: I don’t think so since PKP was one of its own kinds. Obviously, people will have higher expectations from the second one. The first one had its own novelty and I am guessing that we will live up to the audience expectations. PKP 2 is a very different take on love.
Kartik: More than burdened, I am happy to carry it forward. The characters in the film are very relatable. Mine and Nushrat’s characters added a recall value to the film. PKP 2 is a hilarious script. I am hoping it to do good business at the box office.
Do you think people take PKP series mainly as Nushrat and Kartik’s film?
Nushrat: We are no bigger than a film. PKP is not about Nushrat and Kartik. It’s rather about Rajjo and Neha or Gogo and Chiku in the second edition. We have a recall value as a couple.
Kartik: It’s not our film, it’s a Luv Ranjan film. He has made PKP franchise and we are just his characters.
How far your characters have changed since PKP in 2011?
Kartik: I have become more matured than my last character Rajjo. Everyone dominated him but Gogo is smart and confident.
Nushrat: Not really, I am a still a girl..(Laughs)
How do you take when people call you as a real life couple?
Nushrat: Is it? No one has actually told me about this ever. I never knew that people think this way.
Kartik: Honestly, a lot of people tell me this. They think that we are a real life couple but I feel that we are at so much ease with each other that our chemistry is effortless. We have done three films together and surprisingly I had only romanced two heroines in my career so far.
