Vellapally Natesan angry with BJP state chief V Muraleedharan

Mr Muraleedharan is apprehensive that SNDP Yogam vice-president Tushar Vellapally may upset his apple cart
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellapally Natesan and senior state BJP leaders are angry with BJP state president V. Muraleedharan for his reluctance in establishing a tie-up between the Yogam and the BJP.
Mr Muraleedharan is apprehensive that SNDP Yogam vice-president Tushar Vellapally may upset his apple cart.
BJP national president Amit Shah and the two SNDP Yogam leaders met at Kollam guest house for 10 minutes on Sunday. They will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 30.
Mr. Shah has reportedly told Mr Muraleedharan to reach an accord with Yogam though the latter expressed his reservation on it saying the tie-up will antagonize the NSS leadership.
Sources said that senior leaders like O. Rajagopal, P. S. Sreedharan Pillai and C. K. Padmanabhan are also peeved with Mr. Muraleedharan for not taking the initiative for a tie-up.
“The BJP national leadership is keen to have alliance not only with the SNDP Yogam, but also with Kerala Pulayar Maha Sabha, Kerala Br-ahmana Sabha and Yogakshema Sabhaa.
Muraleedharan has been treading cautiously which has upset several leaders,” said a BJP source.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that Mr P. K. Krishnadas, former state president, and many other state leaders had expressed their resentment against Mr. Muraleedharan to Mr Ram Lal, national organisational general secretary who had accompanied Mr. Shah.
“Mr. Muraleedharan had not informed senior state leaders about Mr. Shah’s visit and most of them came to know of it through the media. Mr. Rajagopal is upset that he has not been kept in the loop when the talks between BJP and Yogam leaders are progressing,” said a BJP leader. Mr. Shah is expected to visit the state again soon.
