Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Monday recorded a statement made by the Telangana government that a high power committee was constituted to take a final decision about the wage structure to nearly 50,000 temporary employees in gram panchayats of the state.
The court was dealing with the case by Pratap of Warangal seeking direction to the government to pay salaries to the workers who are engaged in gram panchayats. Chikkudu Prabhakar, counsel for the petitioner said that workers are in a pitiable condition and they are not getting the minimum wage. The bench permitted the petitioner and his counsel to represent the case of the workers before the committee and directed the process be completed within three months.
