Bihar polls: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar shown slipper in rally
Patna: In an embarrassing incident, Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar, was shown slippers and shoes by some members of the audience at a public meeting in Warsaliganj assembly constituency of Nawada district, on Tuesday. The incident occurred after Nitish Kumar reached the venue and began his speech.
“We know who you are it would be better if you stop this and leave the venue immediately,” a perturbed Nitish Kumar said.
After being identified by the JD (U) workers, the protesting group left the venue shouting pro Narendra Modi slogans, giving rise to speculation that they were sent by the RSS and the BJP.
But several local leaders believe that they were basically party workers who were not happy with the ticket distribution for the upcoming polls.
“They were sent to disrupt Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s rally. We have identified them as members of RSS. Nitish Kumar’s popularity is intact in Bihar and they despite all their efforts have been unable to pull masses towards them”, a JD (U) worker said from Patna said.
JD (U) sees this as an organizational strategy of RSS to activate several of its wings to create disturbances in Bihar. Talking to Deccan Chronicle, JD (U) senior leader Ali Anwar said, “Amit Shah and other senior leaders of the BJP have stationed themselves in Bihar. They are busy chalking out strategies to corner our leaders but people of Bihar are smart enough to understand their design.”
