After 2 years, Army nod for pipeline
The permission had been pending for over two years
Hyderabad: In a major relief to the Metro Water Board and a boost to the Godavari project, the Army has permitted installation of water pipelines in areas falling under its control, close to Shameerpet. The permission had been pending for over two years.
According to operations and maintenance officials of the Water Board, the total stretch of the “ring main two” from Ganpur to Sainikpuri of the Godavari project is around 22 km, the Water Board had been awaiting the Army’s nod over two years. Defence officials had been delayed the approval since the area has shooting ranges.
The underground installation of the pipeline is complete except for this 1.5 km stretch falling under Army control.
The Metro Board will now take over a month to complete the work. There are two “Main Ring” lines, one from Ganpur to Lingampally and another from Ganpur to Sainikpuri.
