14 medical colleges sign up with Govt on Quota

He said that it was the timely intervention by the government that made this possible
KOCHI: The state government on Monday claimed that it has been able to make a deal with 14 private medical colleges this year as against 15 medical colleges last year.
In a statement health minister V.S. Sivakumar said that barring one medical college, Azeeziya, that claimed minority status, all other medical colleges signed a pact with the government to allow government quota seats in the colleges once again.
He said that it was the timely intervention by the government that made this possible.
Mr Sivakumar also said that the Justice James Committee was looking into the admission procedure of six medical colleges that had claimed minority status to abstain from signing pact with the government to this regard. He also said that the delay in getting MCI recognition for six medical colleges had led to the delay in the medical allotment.
