Bengaluru: Youth stabbed to death by childhood friend
Bengaluru: A 24-year-old youth, whose marriage was fixed for October 3, was stabbed to death by his friend of over 13 years in Gangondenahalli on Sunday night under Chandra Layout police limits. The deceased, Sadiq Khan, was a jewel polisher and a resident of Gangondenahalli.
Sadiq and Nadeem, the accused, fell apart recently, after Nadeem came to know that his sister-in-law was engaged to Sadiq without his knowledge. Nadeem felt neglected in his family and he frequently quarreled with Sadiq. Last month, Sadiq had assaulted Nadeem over the same issue.
On Sunday night, Nadeem, his friend Irfan and two others called Sadiq near Makkah Masjid. They attacked Sadiq with a dagger, stabbed him repeatedly in the chest, back and hands, and fled from the spot.
Passersby, who saw Sadiq lying in a pool of blood, informed his family members, who rushed him to a hospital. But the doctors declared him dead around 1.30 am.
Chandra Layout police have nabbed Nadeem and Irfan, and are on the lookout for two others. “Though three others were present at the spot, it was Nadeem who stabbed Sadiq repeatedly,” the police said.
