Stranger’s act of kindness to a mom on a flight will make you smile
Long aeroplane trips can be very stressful for mothers travelling with their infants. Things get even more difficult when co-passengers are not as accommodating as one would like them to be. So, when Rebekka Garvinson boarded a flight to Alabama from Michigan, she was in for a pleasant surprise.
The new mom wrote in a Facebook post about how nervous she was about travelling alone with daughter Rylee, to surprise her husband, who is in the U.S. Army. She mentions that she got very stressed when her baby started crying and also noticed a couple sitting right next to them, who didn’t look like they were happy with the seating arrangement.
After requesting to be moved up a couple of rows, Garvinson tried to soothe her crying daughter when the woman seated in the new seat next to her, Nyfesha Miller, offered to comfort the child. “As soon as she had her, Rylee was looking out the window and stopped crying," Garvison wrote. “When we got in the air she fell right asleep and slept in her lap the whole flight until we got to our gate.”
Grateful for the stranger’s kindness, Garvinson took to Facebook to share her heart-warming experience. Other people also happened to be touched by the incident as the story, ever since it was posted on the 24th of September, has been shared on the social media website more than 80, 000 times.
