Mohanlal’s Puli Murugan runs into trouble

Some fire and bomb explosion sequences were also supposed to be canned for the climax scene

Puli Murugan directed by Vysakh, is a film which has been in the news for its huge budget and exotic locations. Starring Mohanlal in the title role, the film has reportedly run into a spot of trouble.

The film is being shot in the forests of Pooyamkutty and a resident of Pooyamkutty has allegedly filed a petition seeking to stop the shoot on account of damage to the forest ecosystem because of the use of plastic and rubber to construct the sets.

Apparently, some fire and bomb explosion sequences were also supposed to be canned for the climax scene.

The news doing the rounds is that the filming has been suspended upon a stay order issued by Kerala High Court based on the petition and that the High Court has reportedly ordered the Malayattoor District Forest Officer to look into the matter.

When contacted, the DFO agrees that he has received a court direction to keep a close watch on the shoot progressing in the forest to see that no untoward incidents take place and that extra staff have also been deployed to see that potentially risky explosion sequences progress smoothly without any damage to the environment.

He adds that the shoot has not been halted as claimed. Meanwhile, sources from the set say that Mohanlal has done some extraordinary action sequences that earned him the applause of the nationally acclaimed stunt choreographer Peter Hein.
