Seek closure of Tasmac shops: Anbumani Ramadoss
Chennai: PMK’s founder Dr Anbumani Ramadoss has written to chief of all the local bodies in the state to adopt a resolution seeking closure of Tasmac shops in their jurisdiction in grama sabha meeting to be held on October 2 marking Gandhi Jayanthi.
In identical letters to all the chiefs of local bodies, Dr Anbumani said that during every year on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi, the grama sabha meeting would be convened to adopt resolutions for the welfare and development of the people. “This year I request you to adopt a resolution to close down the liquor shops in their area to safeguard the people from taking drinking habits,” he said, adding that the state and Central government should adhere to the resolution adopted by the local bodies.
“Through this the state government will be forced to implement prohibition across the state. Hence I urge you to adopt such a resolution and forward it to the state government,” he urged.
He said that if his party comes to power in the state, his first signature would be to implement prohibition.
