Hyderabad: Toddy-related deaths continued in Telangana on Sunday with nine more persons succumbing due to withdrawal symptoms associated with addiction to Gudumba.
In Adilabad district, five habitual drinkers of adulterated toddy died due to withdrawal symptoms in Nirmal town. The deceased were identified as Sidda Linganna, 63, and Sanda Linganna, 65, of Gollapet, Chandraiah, 55, of Venkatadripet and Ramanna, 50, of Manjulapur. They died while undergoing treatment in hospitals. 40-year old Ramchander of Khanapur also died after undergoing treatment for three days.
In Mahbubnager, three persons died. They are Khajamiay, 66, and Mahabub Bhi, 65, of Lingareddyguda village and Rangaiah, 63, of Raghupathipet village. In Medak district 70-year old Moinuddin died.
