A film need not always convey a message: Vetrimaaran

GV’s latest offering, an adult comedy Trisha Illana Nayanthara (TIN) has been receiving flak from critics
National Award-winning filmmaker Vetri Maaran is one who speaks his mind. This was proved true once again when the Aadukalam director, who shares a great rapport with music composer-turned-actor GV Prakash, came to the latter’s rescue at an event.
GV’s latest offering, an adult comedy Trisha Illana Nayanthara (TIN) has been receiving flak from critics and others for its sleazy content and double entendres. Speaking at a promo event, Vetri Maaran said, “You don’t have to convey a message every time you make a movie! Lots of people are criticising GV Prakash’s latest film Trisha Illena Nayanthara on the basis that it has crass dialogues and scenes. No one needs to lecture or be lectured on how a film should be made. I feel that GV’s film reflects the present generation of youth and has been well received by them. I also heard that TIN, made at a cost of Rs 2.5 crore, has collected about Rs 12.5 crore.”
