Hyderabad: The placement season has begun on a promising note, and companies are concentrating on fewer engineering colleges to cut costs, even as the placement volume is higher this year.
Top hiring companies like TCS, Infosys and Tech Mahindra have picked up candidates from most of the campuses they have approached this time. “This year, a lot of companies are coming, but to just a few campuses. Many students are getting multiple offers on our campus as well as other campuses,” said principal of Osmania University College of Engineering Prof S. Ramachandram.
Several startups and mid-range companies are also coming in for hiring this year. Colleges expect TCS to open up more in hiring from next year.
TCS doesn’t allow sharing during placements here, but in Tamil Nadu, it has allowed sharing this year.
