Some big industrialists don’t repay loans, says Venkaiah Naidu
Hyderabad: Union minister M. Venkaiah Naidu on Friday said 99 per cent of the poor, women and smaller traders promptly repay bank loans while some big industrialists default.
“Some big industrialists don’t repay loans. Whereas poor, petty traders, women are prompt in repaying loans. Anyone can take loan from Rs 50,000 to Rs 10 lakh from Mudra bank, but must ensure they are promptly repaid,” he said.
Mr Venkaiah Naidu said while big industrialists who utilised banks provided 1.25 lakh jobs, small traders and other small businessmen provide 12 crore jobs.
He asked educated youth, small traders, small scale industrialists and others to utilise Central government’s Mudra Bank since all of them would not be able to get jobs. Mudra Bank has been started to instil confidence in youth, he said while launching Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana Credit card and distribution of mudra cards and sanction letters to beneficiaries here.
“The bank would help small traders, small scale industrialists and others. So far the government has earmarked '28,000 crore for schemes and so far 34 lakh people obtained loans,” he said.
At another meeting, he said the entire nation was looking towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP with great expectation and the party would sweep the Bihar elections like other elections in various states.
