Jagan Mohan Reddy’s fast postponed
The fast was scheduled to begin on September 26 in Guntur
Hyderabad: The YSRC announced on Friday evening that it has postponed the proposed indefinite fast of party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy demanding special status, as the TD government had denied permission. The fast was scheduled to begin on Sept. 26 in Guntur.
The YSRC chief will sit on fast once the High Court gives its verdict on a petition moved by the party.
Party leader P. Ramachandra Reddy told the media: “We have confidence that our plea will be considered favourably and the fast will begin once the verdict is pronounced.” He said denial of the permission by the TD government and the Chief Minister’s remarks on the protest were highly objectionable and showed that the government was not inclined towards getting the special status for its own reasons and wanted to scuttle any move by anyone in that direction.
He said as the denial of permission was conveyed after all the arrangements had been made.
