CAPE puts off AIMS tie-up announcement
Home minister Ramesh Chennithala and co-operation minister C.N. Balakr-ishnan were scheduled to attend the function
KOCHI: In a sudden move the Co-operative Academy for Professional Education (CAPE) is learnt to have indefinitely put off the function scheduled for September 30 which would announce the tie-up between it and Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) Kochi to run the cathlab and dialysis units of the Sagara Hospital of CAPE at Punnapra by AIMS.
Home minister Ramesh Chennithala and co-operation minister C.N. Balakr-ishnan were scheduled to attend the function.
The decision has been taken in the wake of the controversy over the move, with Amabalapuzha MLA G. Sudhakaran expressing his reservations on the MoU signed between CAPE and AIMS to this regard. The Justice V.R. Krishan Iyer Movement too had raised its apprehensions over the move to entrust a public institution with a private entity. Following the controversy, the CM’s office sought the details of the move and the MoU.
