Athiya Shetty mum on being part of 'Ram Lakhan' remake

Gossip mills are abuzz that Athiya has been signed by Johar for the remake

Mumbai: Bollywood newbie Athiya Shetty today chose to remain mum on speculation that she would be part of filmmaker Karan Johar's remake of 'Ram Lakhan'.

Gossip mills are abuzz that Athiya, who made her acting debut with Salman Khan's just released home production 'Hero', has been signed by Johar for the remake version of the 1989 blockbuster.

Asked about these reports, the 22-year-old did not say anything and just smiled, thereby keeping up the suspense, and instead preferred to talk about celebrity fitness trainer Yasmin Karachiwala's work. "I love Yasmin's work," was all that she said.

'Ram Lakhan', directed by Subhash Ghai, starred Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Madhuri Dixit, Dimple Kapadia and Raakhee. Director Rohit Shetty and Johar have teamed up for the remake of the Hindi film, which was a mega hit.

Incidentally, the original 1983 'Hero' was also directed by Ghai.

Athiya was speaking at the launch of Karachiwala's book - "Sculpt AND Shape". Her 'Hero' co-star Sooraj Pancholi was also present at the event.

"I think Akshay Kumar is the fittest actor in Bollywood.

He doesn't get fit for a role...he is naturally fit and has that energy. He eats right and has a healthy life. Among actresses, I think Katrina Kaif is the fittest," the actress said.

Athiya, daughter of actor Suniel Shetty, said fitness is important for celebrities as they have to look good on screen.

"Fitness is extremely important for actors especially as we have to look good on screen. Otherwise also one should be fit. Mind and body should be in sync. One should not only just look fit but also eat healthy. One can be fit in different shapes and sizes," she maintained.
