Woman seeks help to free jailed husband
Karimnagar: Usually, most people are happy to send their relatives to the Gulf and some people lead a luxurious life with the money sent by migrants. But, some encounter agony after sending their relatives abroad. Here is one such tragedy.
Orsu Lakshmi, a 28-year-old belonging to Garrepalli in Sultanabad mandal, has been leading a life of misery since nine years. All that she wants now is the release of her husband who was jailed in Dubai for killing his relative nine years ago. She met Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Karimnagar MP, B. Vinod Kumar pleading with them to free her husband who is in a foreign country’s jail.
Laksmi’s husband Buchaiah migrated to Dubai in November 2004. He was sending her money every month and Lakshmi was one of the happiest women in her locality. She did not know that her happiness would last only two years. She was shocked to hear that her husband was sentenced to 25 years in jail for killing a relative in 2006.
Buchaiah hit the head of his roommate and relative, with a boulder as he was constantly harassing him for cash in Dubai. Buchaiah was sent to jail. And since then, his wife, here, has been confining herself to her house, hoping that he would come back.
Laxmi used to make a living working as a daily wager. But, she was diagnosed with fever three months back. Recently, her medical condition deteriorated further.
