Shocking! No potholes for Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy

BENGALURU: Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy enjoyed a pothole free ride on a 25 km stretch in the city on his maiden inspection on Thursday, courtesy the BDA!

The Minister was on the first of his several visits on city roads to inspect their condition, following a public outcry after the death of Sthuthi Pandey who fell from a bike, while trying to avoid a pothole.

Accompanied by BDA Commissioner T Sham Bhat, the minister traveled from Central Silk Board to Hebbal flyover on the Ring road and not surprisingly, the excellent route planning by BDA ensured that the Minister did not come across even one unseemly pothole.

This must not have been easy considering that the other civic agency, BBMP, had reported that at least 3,000 potholes exist on city roads, making driving for citizens a life threatening exercise.

Only at Iblur was a pothole finally spotted, but the BDA brushed it off saying it did not come under their jurisdiction. Not the one to blink, Reddy when asked if the exercise was an eyewash, maintained that the pothole filling process was in full swing and that was the reason for not spotting any craters on the roads.
