If you’re like us and simply love experiencing your favourite tipples in innovative forms, then you’re sure to get hooked to this cocktail trend. Imagine the humble but oh-so-satisfying ice lolly — steeped in a glassful of potent alcohol. Some trendy watering holes have been serving up these barf ka gola cocktails, with carefully shaped ice shavings on a stick, dunked into vodka or some flavourful spirit.
We sampled a recent version of this trend at a Mamagoto outpost, where colourful “pop rocks” are the drink du jour. These cocktails are frozen and then served on a stick, marking a seamless blend of homemade spiced or fruit popsicles, flavoured ice and shaken cocktails.
So why settle for boring sips when slurping on that icy frozen cocktail is just so much better?
